This blog is not about coding at all and is more on the personal side of things, which I actually don’t write about too often. So if that isn’t your thing and you just came for code then feel free to scroll past. Or, if you don’t want to read this entire thing: TLDR; On March 4th I am participating in the Play for Planned Parenthood 24 Hour Game marathon and asking for your help by donating a few $$ to my team to support an amazing cause!
At the start of the year I told myself that I was going to take more time out of my life to give back to causes that I deeply cared about. While I don’t get political at all on my blog, I will say that I deeply care about reproductive rights and education, which is exactly the type of services that Planned Parenthood provide to our nation. That is why I have decided to participate in an upcoming fundraising event called “Play for Planned Parenthood” that is taking place on March 4th, where I will be gaming for 24 hours straight that will all be live streamed on my Twitch station to help raise money. It is a really exciting event and my goal is to personally raise $1,500 from now until the end of the event. On top of that, my employer will actually match any money that I raise for the event! So, that means it could be a total of $3,000+ towards Planned Parenthood.
The Details
It all starts on March 4th at 10AM PST and ends the next day March 5th at Noon (a few hours for bathroom and travel breaks). Games are broken down in to 2-3 hours game intervals with a few breaks here and there, and tons of awesome guests!!! One awesome thing is I will have my brand new Nintendo Switch! So, lots of Switch streaming!!!
Also, I have joined forces with my good friend Erin Ali where we will start the day at a local game shop, Mox (who is awesome and donated the space), to do a community Twitch stream from 10AM - 6PM, and then continue on my own Twitch, streaming all night and morning for a full 24 hours of gaming. I am sure by now that you already want to help out and donate a few dollars, but here is a bit more of an incentive. For every $10 you donate you will receive 1 digital ticket and if picked you will get to decide one of the games that I play for 2 full hours of the stream. That is right ANY game that you want! At the end of the stream I will send you a physical copy of the game or a digital steam key! That is right support an amazing charity and a chance to win a game.
